Interactive Whiteboard Grant

Just got back from a weeklong family vacation and have good news: I have been awarded a $500 grant by Ohio TESOL to create 5 Interactive Whiteboard prototypes (5 cameras, 10 IR pens).  So, I’ll have one in my classroom starting this fall (as soon as I get everything uploaded to my MacBook) and so will a couple of colleagues who expressed an interest.  That leaves two more, so, if you’re reading this, you’re an ESL (or other language) teacher in Ohio, and you’re interested in trying one out, leave me a comment.  I might just send you one.

Check out my previous posts on this project and stay tuned to see what we come up with.  Should be interesting.

What a great site! I’m in the Cleveland area, teach ESL at CSU, and am completing my M Ed in TESOL. I’d love to subscribe to your site, but when I click on the subscribe link, my screen fills with this stuff:

    – <rss version=”2.0″

    and so on… Any suggestions?

  2. Thanks for your feedback, Rita. I’m hoping to post fun, interesting and useful information fairly regularly, so subscribing would be a good idea.

I tried subscribing to my site using my MacBook in both Firefox and Safari browsers and had no problems. I haven’t tried on a PC (but can, if you like) but I suspect it would be equally easy to do with Firefox. If you’re using Explorer, I would have thought newer versions would also make this easy.

In any case, if you’re having trouble, you may need to use a feedreader or aggregator. Try the WordPress page about them for more info: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/04/19/feeds-stats-readers-and-more/

Hope this helps. If not, let me know and we’ll try something else. Thanks for reading.
